Southwest Regional Corridor Transit Study
Southwest Transitway, an agency of the Hennepin County Regional Railroad
Authority (HCRRA) over sees the Southwest Alternatives Analysis Study
and provides various informational services regarding the development
of a transit plan for routes that would connect Minneapolis to the southwest
suburbs. The SWAA Study continues an earlier study - the Southwest Regional
Corridor Transit Study -- and previous efforts by HCRRA and its partner
cities to identify and compare the benefits, costs and impacts of various
transit modes and routes.
The Southwest Regional Trail runs within the SW Regional Transit Corridor
from Minneapolis through St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Minnetonka and Eden
Prairie. The corridor and other routes are being considered for various
modes of public transit including Light Rail Trains.
